Getting started

How to use One Apply

Five steps to set up, then a loop you repeat for every application. Set-up takes about fifteen minutes, and you only ever do it once.

  • 5 setup steps
  • ~15 minutes
  • Chrome, Edge & Brave
Part one

Set up your account

01

Create your account1 min

One Apply keeps your career profile behind your own login, so this is the first thing to do.

  1. Go to the sign-in page and choose Create account.
  2. Register with your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
  3. Or skip the password entirely and use Continue with Google.
02

Build your career profile5–10 min

This is the part you only do once. Everything the extension fills later comes from here, so it is worth being thorough.

  1. Open the Profile section of your dashboard.
  2. Add your personal details: full name, email, phone, location and a short headline.
  3. Add your work history — company, title, dates and a description for each role.
  4. Add your education, then your skills and any links (portfolio, GitHub, LinkedIn).

The more complete your profile, the more fields the extension can fill and the more the AI has to work with when tailoring a CV.

03

Add your CV1 min

You can keep several CVs on file and pick the right one at the moment you apply.

  1. Go to the Resumes section and upload your CV.
  2. PDF and DOCX are accepted, up to 5 MB per file.
  3. Upload as many versions as you like — each one is stored separately and privately.
04

Install the browser extension2 min

The extension is what recognises application forms and fills them. It works in Chrome, Edge and Brave.

  1. In the Extension section, click Download extension (.zip).
  2. Unzip it — you will get a folder named one-apply-extension.
  3. Open chrome://extensions in your browser (on Edge, edge://extensions).
  4. Turn on Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.
  5. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  6. Pin the One Apply icon to your toolbar so it is one click away.

Keep the unzipped folder where it is. Browsers load unpacked extensions from that exact path — moving or deleting the folder will break the extension.

Small but important: choose the unzipped one-apply-extension folder - not the .zip file.

05

Pair the extension with your account1 min

Pairing uses a one-time token rather than your password, so the extension never sees your login details.

  1. In the Extension section, click Generate token.
  2. Copy the token immediately — it is shown only once.
  3. Click the One Apply icon in your toolbar, paste the token, and click Connect.
  4. The popup should now read Paired.

A pairing token can read your profile and log applications — nothing else. You can revoke it at any time from the same panel.

Part two

Using One Apply day to day

Fill a job application

This is the everyday loop, and the step where you stay in control.

  1. Open the job application form you want to complete.
  2. Click the One Apply icon, then Fill this page.
  3. A review panel opens and the fields One Apply detected are outlined directly on the page.
  4. Check every value and edit anything that is wrong, then choose which CV to attach — or select Don’t attach.
  5. Apply the changes, then submit the form yourself using the site’s own submit button.

One Apply never submits an application for you. It fills the form and stops — the last click is always yours.

Log the application

So your dashboard stays accurate without you maintaining a spreadsheet.

  1. Fill in company and role in the review panel and One Apply logs the application automatically when you submit the form.
  2. If a site submits in a way the extension cannot detect, click I submitted this application — log it in the panel.
  3. The site name and the CV version you attached are recorded alongside it.

Tailor your CV to a posting

Optional, but it is the fastest way to get a CV that speaks to a specific job description.

  1. Open Tailor and paste the job posting text.
  2. Generate the tailored CV and read it through.
  3. It is saved as a new version alongside your other CVs, ready to attach when you apply.

Tailoring only ever uses facts already in your profile — it reorders and rephrases, and will not invent employers, titles, dates or degrees. You can generate up to 5 tailored CVs per hour.

Track where everything stands

Every application logged through the extension lands in one place.

  1. Open the Applications section of your dashboard.
  2. Move each application through Applied, Interviewing and Rejected as things progress.
  3. Each row shows the company, role, site and the CV version you sent.
Part three

Staying in control of your data

Revoke extension access

Open the Extension section and revoke any pairing token. The extension loses access immediately; generate a new token to reconnect.

Remove a CV

Delete any uploaded or tailored CV from the Resumes section. Applications you already logged keep their record of which version was used.

Delete your account

Deleting your account removes your profile, your CV files and your application history along with it.

Troubleshooting

The handful of things that trip people up, and what to do about them.

The popup says “Not connected”
The pairing token was revoked or never saved. Generate a fresh token in the dashboard and connect again.
No fields were detected on a page
One Apply ships tuned support for LinkedIn, topjobs.lk and ikman.lk, plus a generic detector for everything else. On an unusual form, some fields may need filling by hand — the review panel shows exactly what was matched.
The CV did not attach
Some sites block scripted file inputs on the first try. Use “Retry resume attachment” in the review panel, or attach the file manually.
Tailoring returned a rate-limit error
Tailoring is capped at 5 CVs per hour per account. Wait for the hour to roll over and try again.
The extension vanished after restarting the browser
Unpacked extensions load from the folder you selected. If it was moved or deleted, re-run Load unpacked and point at the folder again.
